The most interesting (good) music I’ve come across in a while now. Matisyahu is in town to play at a sold out show at the Showbox, but also was scheduled to do a fishbowl here at Amazon.com. It’s the first one of them I’ve been to that people were actually turned away. I was thankful Bibek came by and talked me in to going over early for it. I was very impressed. They gave out copies of an older album Live at Stubbs beforehand. The performance here was just a guitar & vocals. He did a lot of, very impressive, beat-box stuff, which I hadn’t heard much of since the 4th grade with the Fat Boys. The live cd was really good. Funky, reggae/rap, very catchy and good listening. It’s not going to be one of my favorite groups or anything, but I’ll probably pick up the soon to be released album Youth. You should check them out…
